Amy Johnson, Bariatric Surgeon, M.D., F.A.C.S
Amy Olsen Johnson MD FACS is a bariatric and general surgeon who has successfully completed over 1000 bariatric cases with a very low complication rate. She is also a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Medical Association. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Johnson completed her undergraduate education at the University of Oregon where she was Phi Beta Kappa. She then received an MD from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with honor of Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her surgical residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in 2002 and began active duty service at Fort Bragg, NC as a general and bariatric surgeon. After completing her service in the military she stayed on at Fort Bragg where she grew a busy bariatric practice.

She brings to Pikeville Medical Center tremendous experience, expertise and compassion for the bariatric patient. Her goals in treating morbid obesity surgically are to eliminate or significantly improve medical problems that plague this patient population.

Dr. Johnson is the mother of three adult children and one grandchild. She shares her life with a loving, supportive husband with whom she enjoys biking, fishing, water skiing and gardening.

Susana Potter, Physician Practice Manager
Susana Potter is the Physician Practice Manager for the Weight Loss Sur- gery Center. She attended Eastern Kentucky University, majoring in business management and is a registered medical coder (RMC). Bringing 37 years of experience to Pikeville Medical Center, she joined the PMC team in 2013. Susana began her career in 1976 working for a General Surgeonís Practice as a coder and Practice Manager. Prior to joining the Weight Loss Surgery Center, Susana served as a Manager of both PMCís Billing Department and Centralized Scheduling. She is a current member of the AAPC.

Amy Kimbler, RN, BSN, CBN
Weight Loss Surgery Coordinator and Registered Bariatric Nurse
Amy received her Nursing Degree from Pikeville College in 1999 and her Bachelorís of Science Nursing Degree from Morehead State University in May 2012. Before joining Pikeville Medical Centerís weight loss surgery team, Amy worked in the hospitalís critical care units and endoscopy department, as well as in a primary care physicianís office. Amy has recently completed her certification as a bariatric nurse. Hospitals, employers, bariatric surgeons, nurses and especially patients benefit from having certified bariatric nurses on staff.

Delfina Dixon, APRN FNP-BC
Weight Loss Surgery Nurse Practitioner
Delfina Dixon is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has been a nurse since 1997. She brings to the practice knowledge and firsthand experience concerning weight loss surgery. Delfina completed her undergraduate education as a Registered Nurse at Mountain State University in Beckley, WV. She earned her Masterís Degree and Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Delfina is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Jennifer Cantrell, APRN FNP-BC
Weight Loss Surgery Nurse Practitioner
Jennifer is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She began her nursing career in 1998 as a Registered Nurse after earning her Nursing Degree from Pikeville College in Pikeville, KY. In 2004 she obtained a Bachelorís of Science in Nursing Degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY. She earned her Masterís Degree and Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY.

Debby Damron, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse
Debby has been an LPN since 2005. She received her Associates Degree from Bluefield State College. She began her career at Montgomery General Hospital, moved to Charleston Area Medical Center and is now at Pikeville Medical Weight Loss Surgery Center. She has worked in restorative care, long-term care and private duty nursing.

Sarah Matharoo, RD, LD
Registered and Licensed Dietitian
Sarah Matharoo has been a Registered Dietitian since 2010. She earned her Bachelorís of Science Degree in Dietetics at the State University of New York at Oneonta, NY and completed her training at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, VA. Sarahís professional career began at the Childrenís Hospital of Richmond and included leading a weight loss program for Bon Secours Health System.

Clara Morrell MS, RD, LD
Registered and Licensed Dietitian
Clara Morrell has been a Registered Dietitian since 2012. She earned her Masterís Degree in Clinical Nutrition at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. Claraís professional career began as an outpatient dietitian for weight loss counseling and diabetes education. She has held the position as a consultant dietitian to provide nutritional services for long-term care facilities, physician practices and acute care facilities. Clara has also received her Certificate of Training in Pediatric Weight Management and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Jessica Mann
Medical Assistant
Jessica has been a Certified Medical Assistant since 2006 and a Certified EKG Technician since 2012. She earned her certifications through the National Institute of Technology in Cross Lanes, WV, and the National Association for Health Professionals. Jessica has been with Pikeville Medical Center since 2007. She worked as an EKG Technician for 7 years before transferring into her role as a Medical Assistant.

Tiffany Fronto
Patient Advocate
Tiffany Fronto is a patient advocate for the Weight Loss Surgery Center. She earned her Bachelorís Degree in Criminal Justice at Pikeville College and currently resides in Pikeville, KY. She has worked at Pikeville Medical Center since 2011 and is passionate about the weight loss surgery program. Not only is she a team member, but she is a weight loss patient herself. Tiffany had gastric bypass in December of 2011 and has since dedicated herself to good health.

Kathy Hall
Physician Office Assistant
Kathy Hall has worked in the health care field since 1996. Before she joined the weight loss surgery practice, she worked in Pikeville Medical Centerís Central Registration, Family Practice Clinic, Emergency Department and Neurosurgery. Kathy attended Eastern Kentucky University where she majored in social work.

Anna Tackett
Physician Office Assistant
Anna Tackett has been a physician office assistant for the Weight Loss Surgery Center since 2009. Before joining the weight loss surgery practice, Anna worked for 14 years in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Pikeville Medical Center as a Critical Care Technician. Anna is a 1996 graduate of Pikeville College where she obtained a degree in education.
