Introduction

Emergency Medical Services is a vital public service provided by highly trained individuals who give lifesaving care to those who need it, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Ambulance Transport

Ambulance Transport transfers patients from Pikeville Medical Center to tertiary care centers in the region and also brings patients from referring hospitals to Pikeville Medical Center. The ambulances are staffed by registered nurses, and EMTs who have several years of emergency experience. All of the staff have certification in Basic Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Two are certified in critical care.

Helicopter Transport
