About PMC
Recognized as the National Hospital of the Year for two consecutive years, Pikeville Medical Center has grown with the needs of the region during its 86-year history. The hospital’s recent affiliation with Cleveland Clinic’s Heart Surgery Program underscores its commitment to excellence. This 261-bed facility offers more than 300 services, from cardiac and cancer care to orthopedic and neurosurgery programs. This year, four new specialties were introduced: gynecological oncology, hand surgery, pediatric endocrinology and rheumatology. To accommodate such rapid growth, the hospital is undergoing a $100 million expansion, which will feature an 11-story medical office building and a nine-story parking garage. Hospital leadership has made substantial investments in state-of-the-art technology that enables the recruitment of top physicians. Patients have recognized these efforts, and their satisfaction scores have placed PMC among the nation’s leading hospitals. Pikeville Medical Center’s mission is to provide quality regional health care in a Christian environment.
