	Director of Medical Education Job Description: Functions as "Teaching Attending" Physician in clinic and hospital setting; responsible for ensuring orders and medical care provided by the residents; meets standards of care and follows all regulatory agencies such as JCAHO/ OSHA/ STATE/ EMTALA, etc. Overall responsibility for entire residency program to include: medical aspect of continuity clinic; inpatient care of clinic patients; didactics; rotation schedule and evaluations; letters to AOA and Boards; sitting on or attending major medical committees of the hospital including GME; following AOA protocols to ensure that all residents fulfill the seven core competencies and meet the necessary criteria to complete each rotation and year of residency; functioning as teacher, mentor and role model for interns and residents. Common duties include: accompanying interns in seeing all patients in the first six months of clinic; being present in clinic while patient care is being delivered and hearing "presentation of case" by intern and resident; co-signing with each presentation; making rounds on Family Practice Clinic inpatients and coordinating the care of such patients; attending grand rounds with residents each morning; assisting with lectures and all aspects of resident education.
