Residency Programs Curricula

There are 4 programs of study available to medical school graduates. A Lecture schedule and details for each program are indicated below.

Lectures

  • morning report (Mon/Wed/Fri)
  • cancer conference (monthly)
  • journal club (monthly)
  • morbidity & mortality (monthly)
  • grand rounds (bi-weekly)
  • teleconferencing (weekly)
  • OMT lectures (weekly)


Family Practice Residency Program

3 year / 36 month program


Requirements:
FP Inpatient Service
FP Continuity clinic
  • OGME -1 - ˝ day clinic per week
  • OGME – 2 & 3 – 1 ˝ day clinic per week
Weekly/daily didactic medical lectures
Annual AOA convention

Rotations:
2 months Emergency Services
6 months Internal Medicine
4 months OB/GYN
4 months Pediatrics
5 months Surgery
7 months Electives
8 months facility required rotations


Family Practice/Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine
(NMM) Integrated Residency

4 years/48 month program


Requirements:
Family Practice Inpatient Service
FP Continuity clinic
  • OGME-1 day clinic per week
  • OGME – 2 & 3 – 1 day clinic per week
NMM Inpatient Service - starting 2nd year
NMM Continuity clinic
  • OGME-2 & 3 – ˝ day clinic per week
  • OGME 4 – 1 day clinic per week
Weekly OMT didactic sessions in addition to daily medical lectures
Teaching Opportunities
Must complete on cranial course during residency


Rotations:
12 months NMM/OMM rotations
2 months Emergency Services
6 months Internal Medicine
3 months OB/GYN
4 months Pediatrics
5 months Surgery
7 months Electives
1 month radiology
1 month neurology
1 month orthopedic
6 months facility required rotations


“Plus One” Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (NMM)

1 year/ 12 month program
Requirements:
Must complete an AOA approved residency training program
NMM Inpatient Service
NMM Continuity Clinic – 4 ˝ days per week
Weekly OMT didactic sessions in addition to daily medical lectures
Teaching Opportunities
Must complete on cranial course during residency
Annual convocation of AAO

Rotations:
1 month Rehabilitation medicine
1 month radiology
1 month pediatric OMM
1 month OB/GYN OMM
1 month IM OMM
1 month Surgery OMM
2 months OMM electives
3 months NMM
1 month facility required rotations
