Pikeville Medical Center offers three programs for potential residents. Click on one of the following for more information about that program.
"Plus One" Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/OMT Residency (1 year)
Family Practice Residency Program
3 year/36 month program
Requirements:
- FP inpatient service
- FP continuity clinic
- OGME 1 ½ day clinic per week
- OGME 2 & 3 1 ½ day clinic per week
- Weekly/daily didactic medical lectures
- Annual ACOFP convention

2 months Emergency Services
8 months Internal Medicine
- 2 months General
- 1 month ICU
- 1 month Infectious Disease
- 1 month Nephrology

- 1 month Cardiology
- 1 month Neurology
- 1 month Pulmonology
|
3 months OB/GYN
4 months Pediatrics
- 3 months Pediatrics
- 1 month NICU
|
5 months Surgery
- 1 month General
- 1 month Urology
- 1 month Orthopedics
|
- 1 month ENT
- 1 month Ophthalmology
|
2 weeks Community Medicine
2 weeks Sports Medicine
6 months Electives
7 Months of Facility Required Rotations
- 3 months Family Practice
- 3 months Internal Medicine (Hospital)
- 1 month OMT

4hr Nursing Home rounding per month
Lecture Schedule
- Morning report weekly (Mon./Wed./Fri.)
- Journal club monthly
- Grand rounds weekly
- OMT lectures weekly
- Cancer case conference monthly (2nd Wed.)
- Morbidity & mortality monthly
- Teleconferencing weekly

Family Practice/Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (NMM) Integrated Residency
4 year/48 month program
Requirements:
- FP inpatient service
- FP continuity clinic
- OGME 1 ½ day clinic per week
- OGME 2 & 3 1 ½ day clinic per week
- NMM inpatient service starting 2nd year
- NMM continuity clinic
- OGME 2 & 3 ½ day clinic per week
- OGME 4 1 day clinic per week
- Weekly OMT didactic sessions in addition to daily medical lectures
- Teaching opportunities
- Must complete one cranial course during residency
- ACOFP Conference
- AAO Convocation

- Must complete an AOA approved residency training program
- NMM inpatient service
- NMM continuity clinic 4 ½ days per week
- Weekly OMT didactic sessions in addition to daily medical lectures
- Teaching opportunities
- Must complete one cranial course during residency
- Annual convocation of AAO

- 2 months Outpatient OMT
