PMC's Sleep Services were established to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with respiratory sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea. Obstructive Sleep Apnea (complete cessation or partial cessation of breathing) was discovered relatively recently. It can lead to death, but the most frequent effect is that it disrupts the quality of life for those who have it. The problem is not new, but sleep disorders can be diagnosed and in most cases treated effectively. Many new treatment modalities are available to patients with sleep disorders, such as mechanical(CPAP/BiPAP), medicinal, and surgical.
Our Sleep Centers and Sleep Lab are staffed by Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and Respiratory Therapists and is under the direction of a board certified sleep specialist and 1 other physician also boarded in sleep medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
