The month of September is bringing many changes to the Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) main campus, as well as surrounding areas. PMC’s continued growth brings quality health care and an expanded service line of specialties to those in our service area.

A few departments are changing locations and two brand new clinics are opening to better serve the outlying communities

The PMC Primary and Urgent Care Clinic in Prestonsburg will celebrate its grand opening on Monday, September 23 at its new location, 723 South Lake Drive. Debra Hall, MD, and Kevin Farthing, DO, will be providing patient care. Members of the community are invited to come out to a free BBQ lunch from noon to 2pm.

The following Wednesday, on September 25, the new PMC South Williamson Primary Care and Specialty Clinic, located at the Southside Mall, will open its doors and begin seeing patients. Kayla Damron, DO, will be providing care to patients at South Williamson. The formal ribbon cutting and open house for this location will take place later in the year.

According to New Plant Construction Senior Project Manager, Andy Morrell, other changes are taking place on PMC’s main campus.

Inpatient Oncology relocated last month from the fourth floor of the Elliott Building to the eighth floor. With the fourth floor vacated, the fifth floor impatient medical unit moved into that location. This freed up space for the Pain Management department to move out of the river fill to the fifth floor of the Elliott Building.

This move will allow for the PMC outpatient pharmacy to expand to offer more services to better meet the needs of our patients.
