Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) proudly announces the addition of Jodelle Yount, DO, emergency medicine physician. Dr. Yount received her Bachelor of Science in biology from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She received her Master’s in Public Heath from The Ohio State University in Columbus. Dr. Yount received her medical degree from The University of College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio.
Dr. Yount is board certified in emergency medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.
“I always knew I wanted to do emergency medicine,” she said. “I liked the fast paced environment and also the variety of complaints seen and the need to act quickly and decisively.”
Dr. Yount accredits her success to the mentoring from friends and family.
“I want to make a difference and save lives, practice sound evidence based medicine and work to provide the best care I can.”
She looks forward to providing emergency care to the region.
“My goals for the Emergency Room are to listen to my patients and be honest with them,” she said. “I want to provide the best care I can and make people smile in the process and brighten their day.”
Dr. Yount chose PMC to practice medicine.

Dr. Yount is currently studying for her Masters of Clinical Toxicology.
