Pediatric care is vital during a child’s growth and development. Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) offers a team of four pediatricians who specialize in the care of patients from birth through adolescence. Each PMC pediatrician is trained to address pediatric health issues and how they can affect a child’s overall well-being and development.
The PMC pediatric team consists of Kishore Gadikota, MD, Shobha Haridas, MD, Aaronda Wells, MD and Frederick Stine, DO, who are conveniently located at the new PMC Urgent Care and Family Wellness Center between Walmart and McDonald’s on Cassady Blvd. They offer well-child visits, sick visits, sports physicals, developmental screenings and more.
Children and even teenagers have specific needs which are different from those that affect adults. This is one of the main reasons why having a pediatrician who can advocate for children’s health needs is important.
“Pediatricians play a vital role in a child’s life,” said Kishore Gadikota, MD. “Our focus is to help keep children healthy by monitoring their growth and development between birth and 18 years of age.”
Dr. Gadikota added that it is imperative for parents to choose a pediatrician early in a child’s life to monitor his or her health through childhood and adolescence.
“The pediatricians at Pikeville Medical Center all treat patients as if they were our children,” said Aaronda Wells, MD. “We understand how precious children are and strive every day to improve health outcomes for our young patients.”
In addition to treating children when they are sick, pediatricians can also improve the overall health of their patients by encouraging healthy lifestyle choices such as exercise and eating a well-balanced diet.
