In all stages of life, proper eye care is important, as vision plays a vital role in daily activities. Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) has an experienced team of optometrists, including Josephine Ibironke, OD, MPH, Ryan Kern, OD, and Mohammed Naja, OD.

The PMC Optometry Clinic provides primary eye care which includes vision exams, diabetic eye exams, foreign body removal, stye treatment, glaucoma evaluation, cataract evaluation and school eye exams. Dr. Ibironke is PMC’s Pediatric Optometrist and performs eye exams for children of all ages including the required eye examination for children entering Kindergarten.

“For school-age children, regular vision checks are so important,” explained Dr. Ibironke. “Children struggling with vision problems may not always communicate this to parents and teachers, which, unfortunately, can lead to impaired development, behavioral and attention issues and even permanent vision loss.”

For both adults and children, PMC optometrists offer exams that evaluate how clearly each eye sees, evaluation of depth perception, color vision tests, evaluation of eye muscle movements, the way pupils respond to light and more.
