Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) proudly welcomes Maali Milhem, MD, Endocrinologist.

Dr. Milhem completed her medical training at the Jordan University Science & Technology School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency and served as chief resident at the Jordan University Science & Technology, King Abdullah University Hospital.

At the Marshall University, Joan Edwards School of Medicine, she completed another residency in internal medicine and an endocrinology fellowship.

Dr. Milhem is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

How did you decide on your specific career? “I got interested in endocrinology during medical school,” said Dr. Milhem. “I like to deal with challenging cases.”

Do you have a mentor? “I had many mentors during my residency and fellowship,” she explained. “I learned that hard work, kindness and patient trust are the keys to being successful physician.”

What can patients expect from you as their physician? “My patients can expect me to treat them like they are a family member,” said Dr. Milhem. “My goal is to always provide them with excellent and compassionate care.”

Are you married? Do you have children? “I am married and together we have three children,” she said. “When I’m not working I enjoy drawing, spending time with the kids and traveling with family.”

Why did you choose PMC? “There is a great need for endocrinology in this area and I feel good helping people get their treatment without traveling a long distance.”
