About Dr. Damron

Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) proudly announces the addition of Kayla Damron, DO, to its family medicine practice.

Dr. Damron will be seeing patients in the new Primary and Specialty Clinic in South Williamson.

“The new clinic will be extremely beneficial for the patients in the area,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Kansas Justice.

She says the need for family medicine is growing exponentially and PMC is addressing those needs in areas that require it the most.

“The new facility has tremendous potential for us to expand and meet the needs of patients in this area,” said Justice. “We intend to continue offering services to provide quality healthcare.”

Dr. Damron received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pikeville (UPIKE) and her medical degree from UPIKE’s Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at PMC’s Family Practice Residency Program.

“I grew up wanting to be a doctor,” said Dr. Damron. “I have always wanted to care for people and help them improve their quality of life.”

She says she chose family medicine because she felt like she truly got to know patients and was able to make a difference in their quality of life, over time.

Dr. Damron says she had several mentors that helped shape her into the person and physician she is.

“One of the most important things a mentor taught me was to always listen to the patient,” added Dr. Damron.

She says listening helps patients confide in their physician and helps get a clear understanding of what is going on with them.

She looks forward to providing care to patients at PMC.

“My goals are to be a physician that my patients know they can depend on in their time of need,” Dr. Damron said.

She says she wants to establish a patient population base and provide quality healthcare in South Williamson.

“I look forward to being a part of the community in South Williamson,” added Dr. Damron. “I hope to get to know patients and their families.”

Several factors drew Dr. Damron to PMC.

“I chose PMC for several reasons,” she said. “I completed my residency here and could not imagine practicing medicine anywhere else.”

She says PMC is at the forefront of technology and patient care.

“As a physician, I want to be at the forefront of care, and the hospital’s mission statement mirrors the care I want to provide to my patients,” said Dr. Damron.
