Pediatrician Shobha Haridas, MD, has been specializing in the care of young patients at every stage of their growth for more than 16 years and welcomes new patients at two Pikeville Medical Center pediatric practice locations.
Parents may call to schedule appointments for their children with Dr. Haridas at the new Urgent Care & Family Wellness Center between Walmart and McDonalds in Pikeville at (606) 430-2230 or at her South Williamson Primary Care and Specialty Clinic office at (606) 237-3969.
Dr. Haridas is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She completed her residency at Howard University in Washington D.C., an internship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, N.Y., and her medical degree from Madras Medical College in Chennai, India.
“I have always enjoyed working with children,” said Dr. Haridas. “It is extremely gratifying when you get to care for an infant and see them grow to become a healthy young adult. In a way, they become part of our family.”
Dr. Haridas enjoys watching new parents develop skills in child care.
“There is a world of difference when a child is sick versus when they are well,” Dr. Haridas said. “It has a huge impact on the family. As a physician, I feel good helping them through those tough times.”
“I will do my best to do what is right and in the best interest of the patient,” Dr. Haridas said. “My practice will include care of both sick and well children from 0 to 21 years of age.”
In her spare time, Dr. Haridas enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
