Pikeville Medical Center offers three programs for potential residents. Click on one of the following for more information about that program.

Family Practice Residency Program

3 year/36 month program


Requirements:

  • FP inpatient service
  • FP continuity clinic
    • OGME – 1 – one half-day clinic per week
    • OGME – 2 & 3 – two full days clinic per week
  • Weekly/daily didactic medical lectures
  • Annual ACOFP convention

Rotations:

  • 7 months Internal Medicine
  • 5 months Electives
  • 5 months Surgery
  • 4 months Pediatrics
  • 3 months OB/GYN
  • 2 months Emergency Services
  • 1 months Sports Medicine
  • 2 weeks Community Medicine
  • 2 weeks Practice Management
  • 1 month Hospice

 

7 Months of Facility Required Rotations

  • 3 months Family Medicine
  • 3 months Hospital Medicine
  • 1 month OMT

“Plus One”
Neuromusculoskeletal
Medicine (NMM)

1 year/12 month program

 

Requirements:

  • Must complete an AOA approved residency training program
  • NMM inpatient service
  • NMM continuity clinic – 4  half-days per week
  • Weekly OMT didactic sessions in addition to daily medical lectures
  • Teaching opportunities
  • Must complete one cranial course during residency
  • Annual convocation of AAO

Rotations:

  • 3 months Selectives
  • 2 months Electives
  • 1 month Outpatient Clinic/KYCOM
  • 1 months OB/GYN
  • 1 months Outpatient OMT
  • 1 month Pain Management
  • 1 month Neurology
  • 1 month Pediatric
  • 1 month Family Medicine
  • 1 month Physiatry
