I’m Marla Cantrell, and this is my cancer story.
In the fall of 2017, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. It’s an aggressive cancer and one that’s difficult to treat.
My daughter, Francheska, was only 17 months old at the time. She is my life, my inspiration, and she kept me going when I felt too sick to go on.
Through it all I turned to Pikeville Medical Center. Dr. Blessing Nollah engineered my care, and I’ll never forget her telling me that there was nothing we couldn’t get through if we work together. She was right.
Today, I can say that I am a cancer survivor. It doesn’t define me. It will not defeat me.
Thanks to Pikeville Medical Center, I am alive!
