About Dr. Mullins

Dr. Mullins received her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at the University of Virginia College at Wise. She received her medical degree from the University of Virginia College of Medicine. Dr. Mullins completed her anesthesiology residency and critical care fellowship at the University of Kentucky.

“I realized I was most satisfied in healthcare when I could take care of the whole patient and not a specific problem,” said Dr. Mullins. “As a medical student, I was surprised to find that anesthesiologists do just that in the operating room. While completing a residency in anesthesia, I was able to spend a lot of time working in critical care and realized it felt like home.”

She says she enjoys being part of a team of providers (bedside nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, nutritionists, and many more) all working together to help a patient and their family through an acute illness.

She looks forward to providing care to patients at PMC.

“My goals are to provide high-quality care and be a team player, said Dr. Mullins. “I treat patients and their families how I would want my family members to be treated.”

Several factors drew Dr. Mullins to PMC.

“I grew up in Virginia, just a stone’s throw from Pikeville,” she said. “I have always been very proud to be Appalachian, and working at PMC feels like coming home.”

She says she is excited to serve a community she grew up in.
