About Dr. Duvall

Dr. Duvall attended Xavier University in Cincinnati where he received his bachelor’s degree in pre-medical science. He earned his medical degree at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

He completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati in the department of anesthesiology and he is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

He chose anesthesia during his internship at the University of Cincinnati.

“At that time the anesthesia department had the distinguished Phillip Bridenbaugh, MD as chairman and Prithvi Raj, MD as director of pain services,” explained Dr. Duvall. “Both were pioneers in regional anesthesia.”Their influence helped guide him to the field of anesthesia.

He was mentored by two physicians.

After finishing his residency in anesthesiology he joined the group at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

“I was mentored by the late Ed Berger, MD and the late Ted Guenther, MD,” he said. “Both were incredibly gifted physicians with Dr. Berger specializing in cardiac anesthesia and Dr. Guenther specializing in everything else.” He continued, “They loved their work and always wanted to try new techniques.”

Dr. Duvall turns to his faith daily.

“I pray every day for God’s help in caring for the patients that I will encounter,” he said.

He chose PMC because patients are a priority.

“I wanted to be part of a growing medical center with quality medical staff,” he explained. “This hospital places patient care ahead of all else.”

Dr. Duvall is also a family man.

When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Duvall enjoys reading, cooking, fishing and watching University of Kentucky basketball.
