Brandy Wright, Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) Supervisor of Food Service, is a Healthcare Hero. For 11 years, she has been a tremendous asset to PMC.  She is responsible for overseeing and preparing food trays and delivering them to PMC COVID- 19 patients.

PMC’s Food Services Department plays a vital role in seeing that patients have quality nutrition during their hospital stay.  “A nutritional diet could improve a patient’s well-being,” said Wright. “I communicate with the nurses in the COVID- 19 units to deliver patients the nourishment they need to help get them stronger so they can fight this terrible virus.”

Wright says she enjoys cheering them up by getting them what they like to eat, as long as it fits their meal plan.

“My advice for everyone is to wear a mask, practice social distancing and follow all guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC),” said Wright.

She encourages everyone to support each other during this difficult time.

“Working around patients with this virus, I see first-hand how real it is,” said Wright. “I hope everyone who believes they have symptoms will get tested.”

When she is not working on the frontline, Wright enjoys spending time with her spouse, Dougie, and their kids.
