Throughout a person’s lifetime, chances are he or she will visit an orthopedic specialist at some point for treatment of a sprain, strain or perhaps a bone fracture. Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) offers a team of ten highly trained, board certified orthopedic specialists when these injuries occur.
Kevin Pugh, MD, Keith Hall, MD, and Anbu Nadar, MD, focus on providing advanced orthopedic surgery for hips, knees and other orthopedic problems. These surgeons are devoted to preventing, diagnosing and treating disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles.
Matthew McCammon, DPM, and Mariano Rivera, DPM, focus on podiatry (foot and ankle surgery). They also address underlying health issues like diabetes, provided they are related to foot and ankle issues.
Jamie Varney, MD, provides the region with expertise in sports medicine. Dr. Varney works closely with patients who have experienced sports injuries and offers comprehensive treatment.
The PMC Orthopedic Center utilizes state-of-the-art technology and advanced skills, which played a vital part in the PMC’s Orthopedic Center, earning the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal for Approval in total hip replacement, total knee replacement, and hip fracture. PMC is the only hospital in Kentucky to have attained all three of these certifications.
