For decades, Eastern Kentucky and the central Appalachian region has battled many challenges, especially those related to limited access to quality medical care. In the past, entire families regularly traveled multiple hours to receive specialty medical care.
Currently, PMC is home to Kentucky’s only Level II Trauma Center, the nation’s largest autism center offering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and Eastern Kentucky’s only Level II Advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Pikeville Medical Center has over 3,400 employees and PMC employs 600 licensed medical providers and operates 11 Centers of Excellence.
