The Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) Pediatric Department has the distinct honor of overseeing the growth and development of the region’s biggest asset, its children.
The continued care for pediatric patients is led by a team of four board certified physicians including Bradley Akers MD, Shobha Haridas MD, Kishore Gadikota MD, and Aaronda Wells MD. These physicians understand the uniqueness of informing and educating families about their children’s health issues. They make themselves readily available by telephone, telemedicine, office appointments and also bedside for inpatients.
Whether children are in need of well-child-care visits, sick visits, sports physicals, developmental screenings or evaluations the pediatricians on the seventh floor of the PMC Clinic Building are staffed and ready to care for these young patients.
“Pediatricians play a vital role in a child’s life,” said Kishore Gadikota, MD. “Our focus is to keep children healthy by closely monitoring their growth and development and helping the family understand any specific or specialized care that may be required.”
He says the health care provided during these developmental years has a huge impact on the patients and the way they receive and view health care throughout their lives. The PMC pediatricians work diligently to provide a positive interaction with the children while helping them feel comfortable and secure.
The PMC Pediatric Team studies the newest research, treatment options, and medications to best serve their patients. Their goal is to provide sound professional medical expertise as well as answering concerning questions about car seats, immunizations, developmental concerns, traveling advice and more. They are committed to promoting good health, providing support for the family, and caring for the children.
